One of our team goals was to have a couple of new robot prototypes build by today, so we can test them out over the summer. It is based on the combined “best features” that all my team mates and I came up with on our earlier prototypes. The gear train design is from one team member, the placement of the brick from another, and so on. I finished the basic design of one today, but there are always improvements that can be made. We wanted something symmetrical, fairly compact, versatile and that allowed for easy battery changes. There is still a bit of wiggle I’d like to reduce, but I’m happy with the overall design. I can’t wait to see what neat ideas my team mates have come up with.
