It was a busy weekend for the W.A.F.F.L.E.S.!
Saturday we had fun at our local practice tournament. There were 6 teams there, plus one Jr. FLL team. It was good to practice our research presentation, technical interview and field runs. We still have a lot of work to do this week before our regional event, but the feedback we received will help us focus our efforts. It was also interesting to be interviewed on the the radio and see ourselves on the news that night! Thanks again to 2809 K-botics, the Queen’s FIRST club, Queen’s, and all the volunteers that helped out with the event.
On Sunday, some of us headed to the Ontario Science Centre in Toronto for their Robots Rule weekend. Although we were tired, it was great to have a chance to try out our robot on different field mats and with different lighting conditions. We really enjoyed meeting up with some of the FLL, FRC, and VEX teams we have come to know and to have the chance to talk to different people about FIRST.
For the rest of the week we are going to continue to prepare for the Toronto Regional. We really need to improve our consistency and see if we can’t get that line following routine working! Only 6 days to go…..
